Fault finding and breakdown support.
A machine won't start, the screen is dead, a pump keeps tripping, an alarm won't clear. Ring 0401 434 787 and talk to an engineer. We're not an on-call service, so we'll tell you when we can look at it.
What happens when you call
- On the phone. What stopped, what changed, what the screen says. A photo of the panel and the alarm screen helps. Some faults are found here.
- Remote, for existing clients. Where remote access is already set up, we look at the program live.
- On site. Across the Hunter, usually within a day or two. If production has stopped, say so.
- Afterwards. A short note of what was found and what was changed, and a backup of the program.
What helps before we arrive
- What changed recently: a service, a storm, a new part, a power outage.
- The make and model of the PLC, or a photo of it.
- Whether it stops the same way every time, or at random.
What we don't do
Licensed electrical repairs. If the fault is in the power circuit, the switchboard or the motor, your electrician does the repair and we work alongside them on the controls.
We work on Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Omron and Unitronics, and the older generations of each.
Support agreements
For Hunter sites that run automated equipment and have no controls engineer of their own.
- A named engineer who knows your site, and a second as backup.
- Remote access set up and documented.
- A backup of every program, taken at the start and after each change.
- A short call each quarter on what failed and what to budget for.

Phone or remote response within four business hours. On site within two business days in the Hunter on the Plant and Site tiers. Unused hours roll over for three months. Hours are at our standard rate. Six-month minimum, then monthly. Ask for the one-page offer with prices.
We have looked after controls for Port of Newcastle since 2024, ordered and billed as the work comes up. An agreement puts the same support on a fixed monthly footing.
Need someone on site every week? An engineer on site two or three days a week.
Recent fault calls

- Heat treatment, Quarry MiningA new gas sensor kept flashing the light tower. Its signal at zero sat just under the range. A short filter in the program fixed it.
- Pharma plant, RutherfordAfter a service, an oven kept overshooting and tripping. Found and fixed on site, in the client's own program.
